Welcome to Preschool
We are going to start out our school year by getting to know our friends and families. I would like for you and your child to put together a family board with pictures of your family members. This will help their friend’s get to know them a little bit better.
We will be learning about the seasons, what season we are in and what season is coming next. We will also be learning how to take care of our bodies like going potty in the toilet and getting ourselves dressed. We will need your help with this by bringing in shoes that they can put on and take off themselves (Velcro, slip on). They will also need pants that are easy for them to pull up and pull down (Please no overall or belts). If they are potty training at school please stay consistent at home, it will really help them
grasp the concept.
They will be introduced to Montessori work. We will start out slow by introducing practical life which is things like tweezing, spooning, scooping, pouring, transferring objects. Then once they have mastered the idea of practical life we will introduce sensorial work which are color matching, shape matching, biggest to smallest, smells, and textures. Science will be the next to be introduced we will learn about land, water, air we will have tornado tubes and will also be mixing colors. We will be working on our zoo
phonics all year as well as our numbers. Then to mix things up we will have a music day once a week we will learn how to play an instrument and play songs.
Our class will be starting at 9am so please make sure that you have your child here by then so they will not miss out on the lessons and what is in store for the day. I am very excited to start this year with your children. It will be very fun to see them learn and grow throughout the year.
